Beyond pain · By psychiatric referral
The stellate ganglion is a cluster of sympathetic nerves in the neck that helps govern the body's fight-or-flight response. In trauma-related and treatment-resistant conditions, that response can stay switched on. A precise, image-guided block can quiet it — and for many patients the change in symptoms is noticeable within days.
This is the same injection we perform for complex regional and sympathetically mediated pain, used toward a different purpose. Demand has grown quickly, and most of these patients reach us through referral from a psychiatric practice. We work alongside your mental health provider — this treatment supports the care you are already receiving, it does not replace it.
Post-traumatic stress disorder, and anxiety or depression that has not responded adequately to medication and therapy. Referrals come most often from psychiatry, and we ask that your mental health treatment continue alongside it.
An outpatient injection guided by imaging, performed in our office in a few minutes. You rest briefly afterward and go home the same day. It can be repeated, though usually no sooner than three to six months — and that timing is decided with your mental health provider, who knows how you are responding.
Insurance does not currently cover this use of the procedure, so it is offered as a self-pay service. Call or text 325-326-3433 for current pricing and availability — we will tell you the cost before you commit to anything.
For referring providers
Fax a referral with recent records and imaging — our staff contacts your patient to schedule and sends notes back after every visit.
